Sonia Lakhani
JDE Technical Recruiter at Heartland IT Consulting
When I graduated from college with a degree in Operations Management, I knew I wanted to get involved with the IT space but had no idea where to start. While working as a Technical Recruiter, my eyes have opened up to all the different types of technology we currently have available. JD Edwards stands out to me due to the innovated nature of the business. JDE was the first ERP package that was able to run on the Apple iPad. They have created all different types of mobile applications and also integrated the Oracle mobile app framework that lets clients customize and create their own mobile applications within JD Edwards.
It’s exciting to see a company that is over 30 years old still making advances to keep up with today’s fast moving technology world. As a recruiter, I see that many JDE resources are very senior assets which shows the need of the younger generation to get involved with this system. JDE101 is a great organization that can help potential college students train and become certified within the JDE space and students should leap at such a wonderful opportunity.
Pricilla Hosein
JDE Business Development Manager at Heartland IT Consulting
As a business development manager for a company that specializes in locating and placing JDE talent nationwide, I have been fascinated by the vast array of companies that use JDE. To name a few, I develop relationships with universities, wineries, protein powder manufacturers and oil and gas companies that can all use JDE in some capacity. Knowing how JDE can help a company with managing their finances, projects, inventory and reports is vital for me to be successful at helping a company find the right talent for their upgrades and implementations.
While in undergrad, I studied everything under the management umbrella that included leadership, HR, procurement, and supply chain, but I never thought it would lead me to JDE. It makes sense in retrospect, but instead of reading about companies in a book, I’m meeting the decision makers face-to-face to gain a greater understanding of their day to day operations. I’m most fulfilled in my role when I can put together a project team that helps companies solve problems and facilitate process improvements.
Moving forward, I can’t wait to learn more about the ever changing world of JDE. Each release offers more features and benefits for companies to expand their IT solutions and meet their business requirements. I am excited to see how the industry will continue to transition from machine-to-machine (M2M), to the Internet of Things (IoT) and beyond!
